Self-eulogy
An invincible layer of dust
covers me;
I bend to clean but my joints cry,
Age knows no mercy!
Giving up, I close my eyes
dreaming of misty memories —
The sun smiling upon a hundred perennial rivers,
A plentiful earth telling tales of the mighty,
Under a tree a man discovers wisdom,
The greatest conqueror finds his way to peace,
Violence meets defeat as one God embraces ‘33 and 7 zeroes’ others,
Before finally an outsider refuses to be native!
An invincible layer of dust
covers me;
My children bend over squabbling
And I cry,
Age, truly, knows no mercy!
Giving up, I close my eyes
Firmly for eternity.
